About Me

A little bit about me

I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Jersey.  After graduating in the top half of my class (64 out of 132), I attended the University of Dayton and received a degree in Economics.  I also hold a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas.  After working for three Texas Comptrollers of Public Accounts and other Texas state agencies, I retired from the state in 2000.  Since 2000, I have taught economics at Austin Community College and the University of Maryland Global College.   I have also worked on various projects that interest him, including researching the aging of the public sector workforce and its implications and analyzing Texas's fiscal condition. In 2023 I was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Employee Retirement System (ERS) of Texas.
