Letters from Voters
Emails supporting my candidacy
Dear Mr. Greenfield,
My name is, and I'm a retiree of the State of Texas, having retired as an attorney from the Department of State Health Services at the end of 2015. I just finished casting my vote (for you) online, after reviewing all of the candidates' background information, including the extra info you provided regarding yourself via URL. I am so impressed with your years of public service and your dedication to the issues of pay and benefits facing current state employees as well as those of retirees, and am truly grateful that you wish to serve on the ERS Board of Trustees. I wish you all the best, and hope to see you take a place on the ERS Board; you will no doubt be an important voice and hopefully a continuing resource and advocate for years to come.
Sincerely,
Name
P.S. I write this to you from my sailing catamaran, on which my husband and I have lived and traveled since March 2016; we are currently anchored behind a coral reef at Bahia de Almodovar, on the island of Culebra, Puerto Rico. Although many would expect that I give no regard to important matters as good governance in Texas and in the US, I continue to pay close attention to such matters at home, as I always have -- and, of course, when election times come around, I participate by mail or online if I'm not on US soil.

Mickey,
I'm assuming you voted for me. I'm creating a web page that includes emails I've received on why they voted for me, and I would appreciate your allowing me to include your email. I'll only include your first name. TIA
Stuart

Subject: ERS Vote
Mr Greenfield, thank you for inviting folks over to your presentation via the link you provided at the end of the brief summary ERS allowed you. It was a great presentation! It definitely gave the "why "and showed your passion for doing the right thing. [ Keep that A1C in check]
Godspeed, Mickey
Godspeed!

Mr. Stuart Greenfield:
Finally we have a person with the fortitude to tackle issues rigorously. I too worked at the Property Tax Division of the Comptroller of Public Accounts (1992 – 2010) after 26 years in the Air Force: my first ten years I was in Air Operations; my latter years I worked for the Management Engineering activity. I finally found a niche where my appetite for detail and rigor became a reality.
Conversations with mature employees revealed Bob Bullock was indeed a rigorous bull that made things happen based on his demand for rigor. Since I retired from the State I've voted. You are the first candidate to reveal substantial and crucial financial and economic data - Indeed an elegant presentation. You, sir have my vote!

From Lana,
I hope that should you be elected you will strongly advocate for a significant raise for retirees. I worked for a state mental hospital that went many years without a significant raise. And the ers retires for that system have not received a raise since 1995! Please note that if TDCJ gets a raise the mental hospital employees don't get that same raise.

Good morning Mr. Greenfield.
I just voted for you. I am new state employee (2 Years) and currently retired from Galveston PD. I concur that ERS could do better with their investment strategy
I have a question as to what benefits you are referring to in your candidate statement.
3. How active state employees can use the tax-free benefits provided through ERS to increase their take-home pay.
I am intrigued. Thanks in advance and good luck.

Dear Mr. Greenfield,
I appreciate your efforts to go above and beyond to introduce yourself to your constituents. While others submitted what they wanted to do, they were vague. Your campaign made an impression on me.
